I will put my experience as a law enforcement officer to work to keep Rapides Parish safe for our citizens. We'll use modern technology and new ideas to make our streets safe and build stronger neighborhoods. We will work with other law enforcement agencies to coordinate efforts to crack down on child predators. I will create a task force within the Sheriff's Office to specifically target anyone who intends to prey on our children. I will use my experience as a Drug Recognition Expert to fight the battle against harmful drugs that plague our community.

I will take the politics out of the Sheriff's Department to ensure that only highly qualified deputies and officers are hired. As Sheriff, I will require that Deputies get essential specialized training that they need to conduct proper and thorough investigations in order to ensure more successful prosecutions. I will add patrols in our neighborhoods and outlying areas to ensure that our citizens receive the best protection and service possible.

I will institute a set of requirements to be considered for employment to allow equal opportunity to all residents who seek employment at the Sheriff's Office. Anyone that meets the standards should have equal opportunity to be hire. I will also strive to make our Department representative and reflective of our community.
